This very moment as I write, a young boy in his prime somewhere in that jungle they call 'the hood' in the black community just pulled the trigger without a second thought, the other dude he just dropped is a member of a rival gang and apparently he got shot due to a beef that wasn't even personal, this cat is high on dope.

Down town Malina,Philippines, a young girl has just been raped by a guy on the next street from where she lives, she got a blow to the head and the guy threatened to stab her if she made any sound even though she was barely conscious as a result of the blow. she got raped while coming back from her evening class, walking in the dark through a neighborhood full of thugs. that's tragic...

Lagos, Nigeria, 21:00 GMT+1, right in a dirty neighborhood In the main land, a guy just got stabbed while struggling with another dude who apparently wanted to collect his bag containing his monthly pay. I guess the guy who got stabbed resisted the robber and got stabbed while attempting to fight back not knowing that this dude has been long in the business of robbing folks. Fast forward a bit and you will see that the money this dude just stole is being spent to buy weed and alcohol, tonight he's going to drink himself to stupor.

Now this three crimes all have something in common, can you tell me what it is? They were all committed by guys with sagging pants. Lolz, just joking. They were all committed by guys who lived in poor communities of the world? guys who are in their prime? guys who are thugs? Right guesses but the most important point is, they were committed by guys who had no father figure while growing up. I can be poor, living in a morally deficient society but with a responsible parent, I have high chances of turning out well. That aside , let me get into my real gist

He isn't a Man because he is Tall, Dark and Handsome (TDH), he isn't a Man also because he has a rod and two balls dangling between his legs, he isn't a Man because he has a broad chest and long beards, he isn't a Man because he has a baritone voice and sweeps every lady off her feet when he speaks. Then what is being a Man? Simple put being a Man or True Masculinity is Responsibility.

Over the past few years of living on this Terra firma, I have seen more boys than Men, guys who say things like "When I get money, I will just arrange babes and enjoy my life" well, I happen to be a fun loving guy too but the problem is the context in which "Fun" is used. I call something healthy fun, I mean a kind of fun that doesn't affect you or the persons around you negatively. I digressed a bit there, but what i'm trying to say is; Manhood is greatly displayed by responsibility, and irresponsibility i'm afraid has been more prevalent in the male circles all over the world. Ranging from folks who won't commit themselves to any lady in holy matrimony but wants children (baby Mama) to guys who will get a lady pregnant and take to their heels or some dudes who just wants meaningless sex, just to point this out, there is no such thing as meaningless sex, cos it is to you guys that sex is meaningless but to the lady, her emotions will be invested into it, ladies i'm I right? I guess I got a response there.

In all my considerations, I see that a boy primarily isn't only the little kid in primary one who carries a lunch box to school, but a boy can be a guy who goes to work in his own ride and carries a brief case to work even though he is 30years old. I have seen Men at 20 and boys at 40 and the distinguishing factor most times is the mind set. A mind set of irresponsibility for your choices, your mistakes, your actions, your words... Name it, makes a boy out of you. Some girls have been so deceived that age and dressing makes a Man, but nothing could he further from the truth, believe me ladies, the external doesn't make a Man.

He has money, he has a job, he will be 30 next month but he just always crave for sex like a dog n can't control his temper, can't treat a lady right, doesn't have goals set for his life, has no regard for God or authorities. He is definitely a boy trust me, I don't care about his age. As touching sex, look, True Manhood is determined by the ability to delay gratification. Take that to the bank and keep it babe and guys store that reality in your innermost being. If you can't control your sexual urges, and appetite as a guy, you need a diaper cos I am just sick and tired of guys taking advantage of the fragile emotions of ladies out there and getting them pregnant and in their irresponsibility they run away and live the poor girl to fend for herself and raise a child, those children end up becoming the above stories especially the males amongst them cos no one ever taught them to be a Man. I thank God my Dad is a Man and wasn't a boy when he married my Mom, today he has raised himself some fine man, though i'm not saying I'm perfect, but at least I see responsible in that man and I have pattern my life after that.

I can go on and on but let's draw the cottons on this one by saying, dudes out there, even though you may be a victim of an irresponsible father, that is the choice of an individual moral agent but you have the chance to get responsible today, get a life, know your purpose, when its time, find that woman, get married for real and stay committed to her and your children cos the true legacy any man can leave for his children is a life lived responsibly in the fear of God.
