Let Your Heart be fixed On him

Psalms 51:17 reads "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and contrite heart, O God, thou will not despise.

I am convinced that God's expectation from every one of his children is not primarily an outward life of holiness but A heart right with him I.e Broken and Contrite. Before I go further let me clarify this; I am not advocating irresponsibly and outward lives of disobedience all in the name of " well, my heart is right with God" it will be an irony to say you have a right heart and yet you don't care about what God says as it pertains to your daily conducts; In words, dressing, actions...

Having settled that, I discovered while meditating on this issue that God's main concern has always been about the guy with the right heart all through out different dispensations and as such most people who seemly had a life of outright obedience outwardly where greatly used by God but where only relevant in their own dispensation.

Job for instance , was a man who obviously has an outward life of obedience which made him against all odds stick to God's promises even at the face of death and much sorrows but can anyone tell me of any other significant mention Of Job after his own dispensation?

Who else? Enouch, this man's life was so right with God that he was not allowed to see death, a 300-year consistent work with God, can you beat that? And apart from What Hebrews said concerning his faith-walk and Jude speaking of his prophecy of the end time, his relevance was limited to his own dispensation.

But I came to realize that the people who had more enduring relevance that surpassed their dispensation had really really questionable lives outwardly, let's pick a random name.
Jonah, he was specially mentioned by Jesus as a type of his death, burial and resurrection....

More specifically, Abraham and David, this two lived in times b4 the new covenant was enacted and yet lived lives of the New covenant.

Abraham was relevant in his time and will forever be relevant, even after his death, right there in paradise there was a place named after him. Dats xo Awesome don't you think. Why? His heart! God seeing this man's heart, through him promised to whole of humanity his Son (Jesus). Dat is an everlasting relevance which even made God's own son to be called to Seed of this Great man, and yet, this man's life was questionable to a degree morally. But God looks at the heart remember?

What about David? If there was anyone who should have not be used by God it was David, firstly he had so much blood on his hands and too many flaws which included sexual immortality and yet God said he was a man after his own heart. Do you know dat the throne Jesus will sit on when he comes back to reign on earth is David's throne? Can you beat that? Dat xo great a relevance, he was even called his son, making Jesus his heir . what distinguish this men? It wasn't their outward lives cos that was full of scandals but it was the heart.

My challenge for all you folks trying to be holy outwardly is that you need to change your focus, make sure your heart is truly for God and not just try to please him with your outward life of holiness but a heart that through is broken and contrite chasing the lord.
God is already pleased with you in Christ Jesus, faith his what pleases God and he has given you his Faith. Heb 11:6, 12:3.
Outward holiness without a heart true to God is just Religion, nothing more.

So today what you shld focus on is setting you heart like a fleet on him and he will make you eternally relevant .
God bless......
