Curious

Sometimes I find myself holding a shovel
Stuck like a picture on a best-selling novel
About to dig; Dig into the sepulcher of memories
Just wondering what I could find
A rotten body of my past mistakes? (Rhetorical)
Events from yesterday that Ill love to re-take,
Because I failed the course of moving on
And I see myself sitting in the class of my waiving emotions;
My indecision persuades me to dial the same number
Every tone of the phone ringing strikes a painful chord across my heart

I wouldn't deny that I was on her IG page few minutes ago
Shes having fun, and probably that's what hurts the most.
Damn! I never knew Ill do this again but here I am
Listening to her voice on the other side
And my lips go on strike; void of words
My heart is pounding fast now,
My finger is pressing the red button now
Hoping she calls back even though shell never
But just like today, I will repeat this again tomorrow
But today, I hate me, and I promise to move on
But its hell difficult because sometimes, Im just CURIOUS!
So Ill dig again!

Regrets (poem)

As this ink paints words on these pages I remember you and how your words hurt,
Not the words you spoke, but the ones your didn’t,
Not the choice you made but the one you didn’t
Your weight crushed me, not the once you put on me, but the one you didn’t -
The weight of your love.
You gave me a pseudo yoke, its crazy!
You made me believe I got you, every thought I had was about you,
Every battle I fought was not to doubt you, or your love! Damn, foolish me.
They say fools fall in love, well, they probably right,
Cause the words you said gave me sight,
A right perception of my lone naive walk in darkness of false love,
My continued logging for a false future with you,
False dreams, false desires, every hour, every single day.

I wish I could hate you, blow up and use curse words to spite you,
But that isn’t me, your actions can’t change who I am
The arrow of your betrayal pieced deep into my heart though, but didn’t corrupt me.
I have regrets, yes I do! They are regrets of my choices:
Why I told you I love you, why I stayed true to you, why I cared so much about you!
Why, why, why... ? but that's on me.
When fear turns to anger, anger turns to disappointment, and disappointment births Regret
And Regret? Pain!
Then In pain you ask yourself, this question;
“Did I ever love her? “And YES! Screams at your face,
Then finally you ask.” Why Did I ever love her?”
Probably will never know........
{THE END}

Foetus

Someone asked me a while back;

Are you a feminist? Probably
But I do this for my Friend, Femi Sis
She got a pill from the pharmacist
Asking him; "how can I end this please!"
I Don't care about nemesis
I hate it's Genesis
Keeping it, will bring memories

I pleaded, telling her; "please"
That 'it will hurt you Sis'
Her pain won't seize
It will steal her peace
And leave her in less than a piece

She shld let him/she live
He could've grown up and made her proud

He/she would've Travelled around the world
Even to America's Capital DC
But she snuffed it out with a D & C

Rod in the Uterus
Killing the foetus
Or killing the future
You seeing the picture?

All I asked for is less killing but healing
They don't have a voice
So  ama cry out with my words
mama! Give us a shot at life.

Slavery

Forced subordination intruding their culture
Agony and pain, along with emotional torture
Stripped of their names, even their honour
Treated not as human but as petty creatures

Who are these people? My Negro brothers
Agonizing stories of our fore fathers
Painful humiliation of our Sis and Mothers
It’s all in the past now, so I shouldn’t bother?
Are you hushing me now? Is that an order?
So-called Superior races committed this murder
Some lived through it but what about others?

This barbarism has being long over
But the participants have refused to be sober
I see slaves all around, when I take a look closer,
I see some who even own range rovers
I swear to you this trade ain’t over
As we walk through life and get older,
We go back into the field to be bonded with the same forever
All for the cash, enslaved to this legal tender

Not the idea of slavery you have right?
But this is war; I swear, it’s a fight
To either live for you, or for the plight,
Yeah, of people around you, always in sight
So while sitting on that table about to take a bite
Let’s think of those who needs strengthen and might
Or those in the dark abyss of poverty without a light

You’re a slave so-far the money is your master
To every beacon call of it you answer
Got stuck with it and it becomes your cancer
Dying of greed and yet it doesn’t matter?

What’s the use of getting rich if you won’t share?
Of stacking cash to be happy, to feel it’s there,
While you kept it, to give anyone else, you wouldn’t dare
And your neighbour has needs but you just don’t care. Why?
Because your master, money, owns you and only him you fear.

So, chains are old school, bills are the new
Many will not like this only a few
But I pass this message to give a clue
Cause the desperate love of money makes you a fool.
If you believe me, then I think we are cool.
This might be tough for you but I beg you to chew
Chew on this truths and I hope you stick to it like glue

He takes the stage

I have won the heart of men with my dexterity
I have performed on the biggest stages in the world
My face is on the front page of any popular magazine
Did you check the news last night?
Look through the windows
Check out the Skies, look, look, look...
My name is painted in gold
“I earned this, I deserve this” so says my soul
I am a legend amongst my pedigrees
I’m a star, fame, stardom!!!
Name it; come on give me your fair description

But wait, please be quiet, hush....
What is this void I feel on the inside of me?
It’s like having an unoccupied, desolate apartment in your heart
Yes, I know this feeling, I have always known it
I’m beginning to get used to it I must say
But, but, but... (Stammering) is there any solution to this?
My heart bleeds vigorously
If only the blood could flow out so that someone else could see my pain
But it doesn’t, I guess that’s why it’s called an internal bleeding.
It’s internal, so outside, I put up a show, yeah! a show...
No one can see the blackness within... it’s crazy........

But alas!!! In this dark hour, I see the Sun rise
Hope rises within me
Brightness, greater than a billion suns ablaze
I fell in love with the one who is THE BRIGHTNESS
He told me he will take it all away; the pain, the darkness within....
He performed a surgery within me, oh! He gave new heart
He told me to embrace stage fright
He said he will perform on the stages while I play the background
Now I’m in the backstage while I watch him get all the glory
It’s his stage, I give it to him.
HE ROCKS... well, He is THE ROCK.

Is it love? {A poem}

She walks by and he couldn't help staring at her figure
Just one night with this damsel will be incredible, he figures.
So he walks right up to her to achieve all that he pictures
To have her to himself with all her features

He said "your legs are sexy" and she blushes
"I love everything below your waist including your Crotches"
Your are more pretty than any I have met even my crushes
Her digits he got, his words her heart it touches

Sun rises and sets, with sweets words he won her soul
Night after night they talk for hours on the phone
She cherished every moment together in a roll
Kisses on her lips from her face down to her toe

Sweet love, pleasant memories
Sweet words, perfect eulogies
Amusing tones, catchy melodies
High expectations, great fantasies

Two words " its over" takes the off shroud
Left her naked in front of the crowd
What happened to what they had of which she was proud
Her bright Sky suddenly became a gloomy cloud

For her pain, a gown of distrust
Felt it was love but it was lust
Her pride to whom she lost
But to move on, a thing she must
Heart broken

Note
Learn from this work of literature that right nomenclature reduces the risk of torture which is prevalent in our culture.

Her Pain, My Voice

I scream at the top of my baritone voice as I watch her bleed but no one is listening, no one heeds

I thought if I was to shout, that might be the key, to get someone to hear me, to make someone see

Great men have been domiciled in her for months, nine? Yeah! Some even more, ask Einstein.

she brought them into this world

But as soon as they came of age, they left her in this mess, I'm desperate to make someone get this
word hence; I become her voice

Religion made her a Reject, to the society she became an object but either way she remains a 'neglect' Neglected damn!

She has been battered body and soul, she's been left outside to die in this cold

But amidst all this she's still got a spirit that can never be broken,

she can come back to life with the last breath she's got

So I do this for my sisters, my mothers, my girl child; my daughter yet unborn, for my wife (Virtuous woman) and I don't care what any stereotypical man out there thinks;

The voice of the Woman must be heard, I couldn't have been a grown man without one.

Intovert Love

As your lips touch mine in front of all these people, the feeling of your soft body on mine as my hands navigates on a romantic voyage around your waist and creates a confluence, chills my heart like the morning freshness.

I have always thought I was unfortunate until God brought you into my life.

I shut the door of my heart from love, put a password on it but somehow you became the code.
An introvert, always keeping to myself, I saw every other as an intruder,

I didn’t want to trust or love any other.

I didn’t even know how to trust but you showed me, I didn’t know how love felt but you let me feel your heart.

Even when we were apart, a thousand miles away, I had no other thought on my crowded mind but you, babe you even became my subconscious.

You are truly the girl of my dreams because when my eyelids kiss each other, you come alive in my dreams anytime we are apart.

I never believed in human love but you became my salvation

Each time we held hands, watch the sunset and talked about our live together, you gave me hope to live for tomorrow.

I hate it when we had to be apart for any reason, each time we spoke on the phone I always wanted to be with you

I sometimes refrained from telling you I missed you

But girl, I always got you on my mind and all I ever wanted is you

Sometimes my pride gets in the way but your humility removes the barricades

I can remember sitting in my room staring at the ceiling thinking of the wonderful kids we would have

These feelings I’ve got for you babe is intense but I know you feel the same too

Got you on my mind babe...

When you look at me, I feel you see through me, I know that you gat me

Was a closed book but babe somehow you opened it, never knew how you did that though

But I know that I couldn’t wish for more cos girl you are everything I’ve ever wanted

You have got me trapped in your love it’s like I’m hunted

But girl I would rather be with you than to be rescued.

Times again I was arrogant and foolish though, but you held me close and you said; ‘I will never go’

You helped me go all out to achieve things I was scared of.

You told me to believe in myself and God’s abilities in me.

You always made me feel adequate, you were never selfish.

You let me be myself, you never controlled me,

Any time I wanted to fall you were there to hold me.

I felt I had committed a spiritual heist, I swear I thought I stole an angel

Cos girl you stayed right next to me even when I was not there

You got my back always just like my spine, girl!

When we first met years back, you were never special

I thought you were like any other but I saw a heart in you that was in no other.

I fell in love with you girl, not your beauty, don’t get me wrong, you face is on my facebook

But the true beauty in you lies inside you, you gave me a pass in, you let me see inside of you.

You showed me all you pains, girl I saw your struggles

We both had wrestles in our past; I guess that’s how we connected

You never hid the ugliness, I saw you in your weakness cos you never claimed perfection

Even though your actions were, you let me see the real you.

Now I’m holding you in my arms, my one and only

I will never let you go, this I promise you, and I will love you and protect you

Through the ups and down, I’ll take the rise and dive right beside you

Even when I’m not around, I’ll be inside you cos girl you got my heart right inside you

All these I promise you babe...

And when those kids come, they will love us like we will love them

And we’ll show them God cos he gave us you and me forever.

I love you!
